Panchayat Samiti member of Maraduguchha panchayat under Tarbha Block Mitabrata Mishra held a hunger strike after his repeated appeal with district administration for probe into a false gram sabha in his panchayat went unheeded.
Mishra met several times the Subarnpur Collector, PD DRDA, DPO and BDO Tarbha Block regarding the false gram sabha and palli sabha and the selection of IAY/BPGY beneficiaries in Marduguchha panchayat but in vain.
He also held agitations and later called them off as the administration gave assurances that the Executive Officer and the Sarpanch of the panchayat would be taken to task.
As till date no action was taken, Mishra submitted two reminder petitions in December last. But unfortunately did not get justice after complaining several times till date. Mishra also said that the grievance cell of the Collector was a farce.
