Subarnapur district Collector Dasirathi Satpathy discussed measures to tackle heat wave and water scarcity problems in the district at a meeting held here recently.
Satpathy asked officials of various line departments to remain alert to tackle heat wave conditions that may arise in coming days.
He also said that the hospitals in both the urban and rural areas should remain alert with adequate preparations to attend the emergency cases like sunstrokes.
On water issues, he asked the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation department to ensure that water is supplied to the people as the scarcity during summer is a common problem here. The department must rise to meet the expectation of the people, he added.
He also asked the Wesco officials to ensure that no unwanted power cuts happen as the town often faces acute water shortage during the summer due to the low level of groundwater.
