Subarnapur lad needs aid for treatment

In an age when everyone enjoys life with friends and family, a 22-year-old ill-fated youth has been leading a cursed life, confined to his home.

A poor family of Rejumunda village in Khandahata Garm Panchayat under Birmaharajpur block has been running from pillar to post to seek aid for treatment for their son Sukanta Bhoi, who is afflicted with an unknown disease since 2010 and lying invalid.

After spending whatever he could afford for his son’s treatment, Bhoi’s father Upendra Bhoi is looking for assistance from the administration as he is poor.

The family needs financial assistance for going for a higher therapy for the disease that could save Bhoi’s life and make it normal.

“My son was normal till 2010. While his matric examination was going on, he flopped on floor at home and since then his body grew slim,” said Upendra.

Forget normal life, even eating, sleeping and sitting is painful for him. However, Bhoi is so weak that he is always found sitting alone watching other boys play.

“I wish I could live like my friends and play with them,” said Bhoi.

His father brought him to many hospitals, including Burla and Olatpur etc, but to no avail.

Bhoi’s family can be beneficiary under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) since it is under BPl category. But Upendra is yet to knock atthe door of the administration for help, thanks to his ignorance and illiteracy. Meanwhile, the locals have urged the administration to make arrangements for the youth’s treatment.
