The Subarnapur district official website, which is supposed to contain all updated information regarding the district, is very shoddily maintained.
Either, it is not updated from time to time or it carries incorrect information. On the other hand the web portal is displaying either inadequate or misleading information on different matters.
The portal is maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).For instance, former District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Ashwini Kumar Bhoi’s name is displayed in the website, while new DIPRO Bhujanga Bhusan Rao has joined nearly a year ago.
Similarly, while BJP’s Rudra Kishore Mahala was elected Zilla Parisad Vice-President after the panchayat elections in March, yet the portal displays the name of predecessor Padmini Baghar(BJD).
Similarly, Civil Supply Officer Bibekananda Karkara has joined before three months, while his predecessor Bijaya Kumar Rath was transferred six months back. But his name is still displayed.
Even the names of some officers and public representatives who died years ago still figure in the portal. There are many flaws in the names and designations of the officials.
There is absolutely no information about several key Government departments. In the PRI elections 10 members of BJP have won. Yet in the portal one can find the name of only one.

In this scenario, how can the tourist potential of the district be exploitedIJ Besides, the wrong information can have a negative impact on the minds of the students.
When contacted, NIC officials said the State Government Departments are not providing updated information for uploading. Despite several reminders to departments, they are not providing information.
