local denizens staged a demonstration in front of the CDMO office here on Wednesday demanding cancellation of the deputation order of Subarnapur DHH Pediatric Specialist Dr Nanda Kishore Nayak.
People strongly opposed the move to depute the doctor as there is a sheer dearth of physicians in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Out of 44 sanctioned doctor posts, 19 are lying vacant. The hospital is running without a medicine, surgery, pediatrics, orthopedic, chest and ENT specialists, anesthetist, pathologist and radiologist.
While patients are facing a lot of trouble due to dearth of doctors, it is disappointing that the CDMO has passed an order to depute Paediatric Specilist Dr Nanda to the Tarbha CHC, alleged agitators.
Meanwhile, CDMO Bijayalaxmi Guru said it is not her decision rather a decision of a Minister who has put pressure on her to depute Dr Nanda to the Tarba CHC. However, she didn’t divulge the name of the Minister but canceled the deputation order.
Among others, social activist Baldev Bedbak, Shraddhanjali Mishra, Jitu Badmali, Himanshu Gadtia and Manas Mishra were present.
