Subarnapur customers left high and dry

The State Bank of India is considered as one of the most customer-friendly banks, but in Tarbha, the customers allege it is the opposite.

The town bustles with business activities and a number of adjacent towns depend upon the bank’s services. However, the customers feel harassed as the draft printing machines of the bank doesn’t work most of the time and they are going 30 km away to Sonepur headquarters to get their work done.

The machine is not working and there is no staff to do that, said the bank official to a customer who had come to make a draft. The passbook printing machine is also not working properly. So the customers fail to update their pass books.

Though the SBI has opened two ATM counters in the town here, they remain out of order and no cash is available most of the time. The customers also face harassed as at times both the counters are found opened. Besides, the counters often don’t have adequate money. The retired service holders also depend on the SBI for their pension, but they face hardships.

The locals demand immediate steps to restore normalcy in the banking services.
