Subarnapur administration violates model code

Published on:

Even though the State Election Commission (SEC) has issued notifications on December 27 for the panchayat elections and directed to remove the Government hoardings from public places, hospitals and Aahar centres and not to publish advertisements on Government schemes, the SEC directives have been violated in Subarnapur district.

After 14 days have elapsed since the notification was issued and the election process is on, the district administration has defied the direction of SEC and not removed the hoardings from public places, alleged different political parties.

The hoardings in different places likely Nalini Chowk, Majhipara, bus stand, Block Chowk, Block Colony, in front of DRDA and Royal Field by the Public Relations Department have not still not removed, in which Chief Minister’s photo has been displayed

Different hoardings of State Woman Empowerment Scheme, Mamata Yojana, Kalinga Yojana for students, agriculture loan, and Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana have also been put up in different places of the town which is violation of the model code of conduct.

Therefore the locals are suspicious about the impartiality and transparency of the district administration and demanded to remove these hoarding immediately.
