Vigilance officials on Friday detained Baleswar Sub-Registrar Ranjan Kumar Das after he was found carrying unaccounted cash of Rs 2.23 lakh in a car.
The Vigilance officers intercepted the car, by which Das was travelling to Puri, near the Sergarh toll plaza. He was found in possession of Rs 2,23,580, which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily.
The Vigilance officials then seized the money and the car and detained Das for questioning. A case was registered by the Vigilance in this matter.
