Members of the Nimapara Sub-Division Working Committee and the Nimapara Durniti Sangharsh Committee held a demonstration in front of the Nimapara Tehsil office on Wednesday demanding declaration of Nimapara as a sub-division.
The agitators said Nimapara is eligible to be a sub-division taking into consideration its population and area.
They also demanded that Kakatpur, Konark, Astarang and Gop be included in the Nimapara sub-division when it is created.
Among others, lawyer Sudhir Mohanty, Gadadhar Parida, laxmidhar Pradhan, Satya Priya Nayak, Dibakar Nayak, Pragati Baral, Krushna Chandra Rout and Ranjit Sahoo led the agitation.
