A team led by Brahmapur Sub-Collector laxmikanta Sethi conducted raids at the Vishal, Giri Road and The World shopping malls here in front of the Telephone Bhavan on Wednesday. The officials investigated about the prices of arhar dal and other cereals.
They also inspected the stocks of the commodities. “If we get evidence of any illegal activities in the malls, we will take steps according to law,” the Sub-Collector said.
The managers of the shopping mall were asked to submit relevant reports. Steps would be taken for fair availability of dals for the consumers in near future, Sethi promised. Brahmapur Market Intelligence Officer Ashok Kumar Mohanty, the Supplies Officer and Supplies Inspector Anita Rout were present during the investigation.
