In a unique effort, the authorities of the Sambalpur University have cleared pending 1, 30, 000 certificates of the students from 2006 to 2017. This is for the first time in the State that such a huge number of certificates were distributed by any university in a day.
As per information, when RDC (ND) Dr DV Swami was the Vice Chancellor in-charge of the university, he had started the initiative. later, incumbent VC Prof Deepak Behera took it forward.
The Principals of 185 +3 degree colleges, seven autonomous colleges, heads of 24 post graduate departments and 22 professional courses received the degree certificates from the university.
On the occasion, Collector Samarth Verma, Odisha State Open University VC Dr Srikant Mahapatra and Gangadhar Meher University VC Prof Atanu Pati were present as guests.
