A blood donation camp was organised at the Bapujee Higher Secondary School at Garhpalasuni in Dhenkanal district recently where
students of the institution and adjoining colleges, besides common people of the several villages under Kankadahad block donated blood.
Organised by BHSS NSS male and female units with active support of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha and Red Cross Blood Bank, Talcher, the camp was inaugurated by BHSS Principal Bhagaban Sasmal, local BJD leader Netaji Abhinandan Behera and local sarpanch Pradip Kumar Samal. A total of 24 units of blood were collected.
CHSE NSS coordinator Dr Anata Kumar Jena and Parimal College, Pandua, NSS programme officer and recipient of Indira Gandhi Award for social service Rasmi Ranjan Das attended as special invitees.
Among others, BHSS male and female programme officers Kailash Chandra Sahani and Paramanda Biswal, Gangadhar Das, Gangadhar Batharu, Sarala Panda, Subash Chandra Parida, Mayadhar Sahoo, Prafulla Samal, Brahmananda Samal were present.
