Demanding immediate reinstatement of their school’s headmaster, as many as 470 students of the Ashram school at Ramagiri in Gajapati district run by the State SC and ST Development department quit the school on Monday.

The students wrote their demand on the school wall and cautioned the authorities that students from Class-I to Class-IX wound not return to the school till the retrenched headmaster is taken back. Earlier, the students had left their hostel on January 9 midnight, demanding the removal of the dismissal order.

But at that time, the school committee and district administration had convinced the students and managed to bring them back assuring that the headmaster would be reinstated soon. It may be mentioned Chakradhar Patra was dismissed from the school in December last. Meanwhile, the parents have held the district administration responsible for the mess.
