Student unrest grips pharmacy colleges

Published on:

Student unrest has gripped the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in  Brahmapur and Mohuda Pharmacy College following protest over the BPUT’s  decision to hold examination offline.

Students in large numbers  held demonstrations near the college gate. According to agitators, their studies have been affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As  all classes were conducted online they could neither study properly nor their doubts were clarified. In such circumstances, now they are being asked to appear the university examination offline from April 22, which they oppose. They insist that  physical classes should  be conducted for at least for 90 days, before conducting offline examination. T

The students said that they have informed this to college authorities but they have not taken any steps in this regard. This is the reason of their unrest. However, following interference of senior police officers and their assurances , the agitation was withdrawn.

The college authorities clarified that conduct of university examinations is decided by university, Central and State Governments. But they have informed the university officials about the students demands.
