The Odisha Student Congress on Monday held a demonstration before the residence of BJD MLA Sushant Singh here demanding that the MLA be brought under the purview of investigations into the Minister Naba Das murder case.
Student Congress members scuffled with police and hurled tomatoes while trying to barge into Singh’s residence by jumping over the barricades.
Singh and Naba Das were at loggerheads; and hence, the Bhatli MLA (Singh) should be brought under the purview of investigation. The mobile phone of the BJD leader should also be seized for investigation, demanded the agitators.
“It is unfortunate the way a Cabinet Minister was shot dead in broad daylight and the State Government has so far failed to unearth the mystery. Was the Government unaware that there were some differences between Sushant Singh and Naba Das as the former wanted to expand his base,” asked Student Congress State president Yashir Nawaz.
Later when the agitators tried to march towards the State Assembly, they were intercepted by police, leading to a scuffle again.
