A joint eviction squad demolished encroachments on a master plan road from the Omfed Square to lumbini Vihar at Nilamadhab Basti-I and II at Chandrasekharpur here on Monday.
The eviction drive had started on Saturday. The team consisting of officials from the BDA, the BMC, the R and B and the Commissionerate Police bulldozed a total of 112 houses, including houses of 90 RAY-enlisted families. Besides, six wooden cabins and a temporary hotel were demolished.
Enforcement Additional Commissioner Bhabani Sankar Chayani, BMC Deputy Commissioner Subhransu Mishra, BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Patro and liasioning Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty were present during the drive.
A Section lady Force and a platoon APRF and OSSF personnel were engaged at site to maintain law and order during the eviction.
