Continuing the drive of demolition of the illegal structures along drainage channel No. 4 near Jayadev Vihar Square here, a joint team of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished a structure near Somu's Cave on Monday.

In the wake of severe waterlogging conditions across the city, both the development and civic authorities have adopted a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy towards the encroachment on secondary, tertiary and major drainage channels across the city.

In another drive to send a strict message to encroachers of the major roads and drains in the city, the joint squad started demolition on government plot no - 2791 at Naka Gate here.

Out of four asbestos roofed houses one was demolished. Meanwhile, the squads-1 and 4 of BDA visited Jharana Basti near Sishu Bhavan and warned the encroachers over the nearby drain to remove their construction immediately.
