The Indian Meteorological Department office on Wednesday predicted strong gusty surface wind to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour (kmph) along and off the Odisha coast, apart from very heavy rainfall at one or two places over south Odisha during next 48 hours.
“Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast, a low pressure area has been formed. Hence, rain and thunder shower will prevail at many places over the State. ,” said a release.
