Private bus services from Puri to Cuttack and other places in the State were halted on Tuesday as bus staffs of the pilgrim town resorted to a cease-work stir causing inconvenience for large numbers of commuters.
The Nilagiri Motor Employees’ Association called for the strike protesting assault on a Puri bus employee at the Cuttack bus-stand a few days ago. The incident had taken place over an issue of halting duration of buses at the Puri and Cuttack bus-stands. Meanwhile, police have detained more than 20 bus staffs following a scuffle between the two during the agitation.
