Stray dog menace at Kalinga Vihar

Published on:

Stray dogs at Kalinga Vihar Housing Colonies are creating havoc to the pedestrians, motorists, especially two-wheeler users. In spite of repeated complaints, the authorities concerned are apathetic.

People are scared to move around in the colonies.

There are instances of panic-stricken two-wheeler users causing accidents to avoid getting bitten by the barking dogs.

As a result, they are now plying in alternative routes.

I appeal to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to catch hold of dogs and leave them in deserted places or with dog welfare organisations.

Besides, the entry point from NH-16 to Kalinga Vihar Housing Colonies at Patrapara is dangerous for four-wheeler and two-wheeler users as it is accident-prone.

Residents of the colonies in the past had requested the Police Commissioner for establishment of a traffic post. It has, however, not materialised due to staff constraint. Once again, the Police Commissioner is requested to take appropriate action in the matter.
