The Sambalpur- luhurachati road users’ forum led by Sushanta Kumar Dash submitted a memorandum to Bargarh district Collector on Monday against Ashoka Buildkon regarding illegal toll collection in NH-6.
The forum alleged that the district administration had asked the company not to collect toll at Barahaguda toll gate for next 6 months since the road work was not complete in all respects, but the latter violated it. Ashoka Buildkon is the contractor firm that constructed the NH-6. The forum alleged that no standard was maintained during construction of the road. Within a short period of completion of the road work, several major and minor accidents occurred. More than 44 persons were killed in the road accidents.
Besides, there is no adequate light system and no humps mark on the road. Dangerous turning points coupled with several other mistakes on the road have made driving risky.
