Properly developed skills, with the right attitude can lead the youths of today to become successful leaders of future. The students pursuing non-technical courses can also climb higher in professional ladder if they are properly trained. The Skill Development & Incubation Centre jointly being developed by the Nalco and the Utkal University shall be the first-of-its-kind for non-technical students and help youths of Odisha become job-ready.”
This was stated by Nalco CMD Dr Tapan Kumar Chand while laying the foundation-stone of the Utkal University-Nalco Skill Development & Incubation Centre in the university premises on Wednesday.
Earlier this year, an MoU had been signed between the Nalco and the university to undertake collaborative projects under the Industry Institution Interaction programme.
“This will also provide the State’s youths an edge in the national and international markets in terms of entrepreneurship and employability,” added Dr Chand.
This project is aimed at engaging the emerging entrepreneurs of the State and more specifically the postgraduate students of the university. The centre would have an MoU with Hyderabad-based Incubation Business Hub, a Central undertaking, to make the incubation centre a self-sufficient and well-managed one.
Among others, university Vice-Chancellor Prof AK Das was present. A foundation-stone of the Renovation Project of the university’s Department of History was also laid by Dr Chand.
