Static sensors system unveiled at Paradip

Published on:

Chief Secretary GC Pati inaugurated the coastal chain of static sensors of the National Security and Service here on Saturday.

The set-up has surveillance radars, high-end optronics, an array of meteorological and communication facilities. The location is identified to provide round-the-clock surveillance capability around the areas of high traffic density and high sensitivity. The unique and unprecedented project is designed to provide critical operational fillip to the overall coastal security apparatus.

It is one of the finest examples of civil-military synergy, wherein the Government’s vision of developing indigenous capabilities in the field was taken forward by seamlessly meshing the technical knowhow of BEl and the operational acumen of the Indian Coast Guard. Implementation of the project has catapulted the nation into a select league of nations having similar capabilities.

The system would augment the operational efficiency of the Indian Coast Guard. At the function, DIG of ICG Sanjib Diwala, PPT Chairman MT Krishna Babu and IG ICG KR Natuyal among others were present.
