Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday reviewed the progress of enrolling of lPG consumers under the Direct Benefit Transfer for lPG (DBTl) scheme in the State and said that he was happy with the progress.

Pradhan said 40 per cent of lPG consumers in the State have already been enrolled under the DBTl scheme. “Only 12 per cent consumers were enrolled with the scheme 20 days back, but now it has touched the national average of 40 per cent, and I hope the target will be achieved by January-end,” said Pradhan.

The Minister discussed with the Collectors, Additional District Magistrates (ADMs), Civil Supplies Officers and oil company officials of seven districts, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Angul and Sundargarh, about the progress of the enrolment of consumers through videoconferencing. Pradhan was accompanied by State Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Secretary Madhusudan Padhi and top officials of the oil companies during the review.
