State to have 50-bed Ayush hospital

The State Government would set up a 50-bed integrated Ayush hospital either in Puri or Brahmapur, said Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Monday.

Nayak while launching the National Ayush Mission (NAM) said the Rs 10-crore hospital is part of the NAM plan.

Though the State has separate ayurvedic and homoeopathic hospitals, it would be the first integrated Ayush hospital with ayurveda, yoga, unani, homoeopathy, siddha and naturopathy wings.

Nayak said the State would establish yoga and wellness centres in Puri, Brahmapur, Sambalpur and Rourkela.

Two villages from Ganjam and Khordha districts have been adopted as Ayush villages, he added. Health Secretary Arti Ahuja, National Health Mission Director Roopa Mishra among many health officials were present at the ceremony.
