The State Government would provide compassionate assistance of Rs 50 lakh each to all the deceased Covid warriors’ families from its own exchequer, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday.

Thus, the State Government has decided to provide companionate assistances to families of all the deceased Covid warriors from its own funds. Besides, the Chief Minister asked senior officers to directly interact with Covid-positive patients staying in both home isolation and Covid Hospitals on treatment and other issues. He stressed on creation of awareness on anti-viral medicine. Patnaik expressed happiness that the State’s recovery rate stands at 89%, above national rate of 85%. The State’s death rate of 0.4% is also much below the national average. In last eight months, 36 lakh tests have been conducted in State, of which 6.75% have been tested positive.

The CM advised concerned authorities to make systems of testing, issuance of testing reports, making people informed and treatment more effective based on feedbacks received from people under Mo Sarkar programme.
