The State Government collected excise revenue of Rs 3,221.03 crore in 2017-18 and has targeted to collect excise revenue Rs 3,800 crore by the end of the current year, 2018-19.
Finance Minister Shashi Bhushan Behera informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of MLADilip Ray on Monday.
While excise revenue of Rs 1094.38 crore had collected in 2010-11, the amounts collected in 2013-14 and 2016-15 were Rs 1680.29 crore and Rs 2786.23 crore, respectively.
There were 104 BP On shops, 1,163 IMFL Off shops, 509 IMFL on shops, 241 CS shops, 560 OS shops, 1,434 OS Br shops, 36 MC shops and 17 Club On shops operating in the State in 2016-17. They had together sold 455.70 BL of IMFL, 530.50 BL of beer, 98.46 BL of CS and 669.97 BL of OS.
