As many as 230 persons tested Covid-19 positive on Thursday in 23 districts and from the State pool, with which the total tally surged to 3,31,151 in the State. Of the new cases, 134 were from quarantine centres while the rest 96 were local contacts.
Sundargarh district reported the day’s highest 30 cases followed by Angul 24, Balangir 18, Bargarh 17 Jajpur and Sambalpur 15 each, Jharsuguda 14, Khordha and Cuttack 12 each, Nuapada and Mayurbhanj 11 each and Puri and Baleswar 10 each.After reporting zero death on Wednesday, a single casualty was reported from Khordha district, increasing the State’s total toll to 1,888. Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nayagarh districts did not report a single case.
The number of active cases stood at 2,202. As many as 70,86,730 samples, including 21,652 on Wednesday, have so far been tested in State.
