Two more persons succumbed to Covid-19 in State on Sunday, with whichtotal death toll reached 1,944. The new deceased were identified as a 75-year-old woman of Bargarh district and a 32-year-old woman of Sundargarh.
And on the day, as many as 3,664 new Covid positive cases, highest in 2021, were reported from 30 districts and State pool, surging State’s total tally to 368258. Out of new cases, 2127 were detected in quarantine while 1,537 were local contact cases.
Khordha district registered day’s highest 704 cases followed by Sundargarh with 340, Kalahandi 324, Nuapada 221, Bargarh 210, Sambalpur 199, Cuttack 198, Jharsuguda 183, Puri 143, Mayurbhanj 119, Nabarangpur 81, Balangir 79, Jagatsinghpur 68, Ganjam 66, Gajapati 63, Angul 59, Jajpur 58 and Keonjhar 56.
Besides, 155 cases were reported from State pool.Currently, the active cases in State stood at 21,436 and cumulative samples tested till now were 95,99,877. However, another 1,309 patients recovered on day, taking total recoveries to 34,6,134 in State.
