Police on Thursday recorded the statement of the nine-year-old rape victim of the Jatni loco Colony.
A forensic team, lead by State Forensic Science laboratory Deputy Director Arun Kumar Swain and laboratory Assistant Devaraj Bana, along with Jatni IIC Sujit Kumar Pradhan investigated the crime scene for clues.
The investigators along with the victim and her family members went to the place where the crime had taken place and collected blood and other samples for further investigation. The minor had also given her statement about the incident to the police and the investigating officers.
“By January 31, the forensic report of the investigation as well as the medical report of the victim will be admitted in the court,” ACP Pratap Kumar Swain said.
