State opts JEE (Main); test on April 4

Published on:

like previous two years, the State would participate in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) instead of Odisha JEE. The all-India test will take place on April 4.

Technical and Skill Development Minister Sanjay Dasburma announced that students would take part in the JEE (Main) test this year too.

last year, the students from Odisha appeared in the all-India test following a decision of the State Government.

In order to sort out issues and confusion arising out of the two tests, OJEE (Main) and OJEE, Dasburma said the Government would bring an amendment in the Professional Education Act-2007 soon.

“Certain clauses are there in the Odisha Professional Educational Institution Act which need to be amended. Necessary initiative will be taken for the amendment,” he said.
