A state-of-the-art portable X-Ray machine and a biochemistry auto analyser were dedicated to service of the patients at the PPT Hospital by Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Chairman Rinkesh Roy on Monday. PPT Deputy Chairman AK Bose, Deputy Chief Engineer Himanshu Sekhar Rout and PPT Hospital CMO Dr P Panda were present.
During natural disasters, it was becoming difficult to manage investigations like blood tests and X-Ray if there was any breakdown of the main equipment since a lot people in the locality are dependent on PPT Hospital.
Now, portable X-Ray would be useful to make x-Ray examination of patients at the bed side of the seriously ill patients. Previously, it was required to move the patient for such examination.
Further, X-ray examinations of Covid-19 suspects are now possible in the Flu OPD (Acute Respiratory Infection OPD) situated totally outside the main hospital building, minimising the chances of spread of cross-infection. Previously, such X-ray examination was being performed in the Radiology Department situated inside the main hospital building, which was being mandatorily sanitised thereafter.
