While the State Government feels that mobility on road, railway and waterway needs an inclusive policy framework, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has imparted a vision of formulating such a policy called “Inclusive Policy on Transformative Mobility of India.”

On the Prime Minister’s directive, the NITI Aayog, is spearheading this initiative.

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has written to the State Government in this regard and has urged them to go for a State-level Taskforce on Mobility and involve key stakeholders for formulation of urban and rural mobility, public transportation and environment.

The NITI Aayog has planned a global mobility summit ‘MOVE’ in September 2018, which will involve world leaders, policy makers, innovators, key stakeholders and manufacturers coming together for a brain storming and to take forward the vision.

State Governments would participate in the ‘MOVE’ and earlier to the summit, workshops would hold at national and State levels.
