The State on Thursday registered 870 new Covid-19 cases in 28 districts and the State pool, taking the total tally to 13,16,473.
Among the newly-infected were 157 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Notably, the State had reported 920 Covid cases on Wednesday.
Out of the new cases, 509 were reported from quarantine and 361 local contacts.
Sundargarh district reported the maximum 220 new cases followed by Khordha with 140, Sambalpur 72, Kalahandi 63, Mayurbhanj 59, Balangir 45. Bargarh 36, Jharsuguda 23, Nayagarh 2, Cuttack 20, Subarnapur 17, Jajpur 16, Rayagada 14, Nabarangpur and Nuapada 12 each, Baleswar 10, Kandhamal, Bhadrak and Deogarh eight each, Gajapati, Kendrapada, Boudh and Koraput six each, Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar five, Puri and Dhenkanal two each and Ganjam one.
Besides, 27 cases were reported from the State pool.
The number of active cases stood at 6,325.
Meanwhile, two more persons succumbed to the disease in the State, mounting the total death toll to 9,144.
So far, 13, 00,951 patients have recovered in the State.
