As reported on Tuesday, the downward trend in the Covid-19 cases continued in the State with 5,891 more testing positive in the 30 districts and the State pool. With this, the total tally increased to 12,17,842.
Among the freshly-infected were 852 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
In the last 24 hours, 59,807 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 9.85 per cent.
The active cases stood at 77,340.
Of the new cases, 3,413 were from quarantine and 2,478 local contacts.
Khordha district reported the maximum 1,500 cases.
Besides, 299 positive cases were from the State pool.
Seven more persons succumbed to the disease, mounting the total death toll to 8,532. Three deaths were reported from Khordha district and one each from Jharsuguda, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal and Jajpur.
However, 10, 244 more patients recovered, increasing the total recoveries to 11,42,161.
Capital Bhubaneswar registered 1,303 Covid-19, with which the total tally in the city rose to 14,5,747.
The active cases were 10,404.
One more person succumbed to the disease, taking the total death toll to 1,111.
However, 1,644 more patients recovered, increasing the total recoveries to 13,4,211.
