The State registered an increase in Covid-19 positive cases on Wednesday with 296 infections reported from 26 districts and the State pool. With this, the total tally increased to 13,25,766.
Among the freshly-infected were 44 children in the 0 to18 year age group.
Notably, the State had reported 206 Covid cases on Tuesday.
Of the new infections, 174 were from quarantine and 122 local contacts.
Khordha district recorded the highest 63 new cases followed by Sundargarh with 44, Kalahandi 23, Balangir 21, Cuttack 20, Mayurbhanj 17 and Sambalpur 13.
The number of active cases stood at 2,197.
Meanwhile, the State reported two more deaths in last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 1,967. The two fatalities were reported from Khordha and Nabarangpur districts.
So far, 13,14,349 persons have recovered from the disease in the State.
