The State on Saturday registered 1,578 new Covid-19 positive cases in the 30 districts and the State pool, with which the total tally increased to 9,77,268.
The active cases in the State stood at 16,384. Out of the new cases, 915 were from quarantine and 663 local contacts.
Khordha district again reported the highest daily case at 436 followed by Cuttack with 212, Jagatsinghpur 113 and Puri 109.
The districts which reported below-100 cases were Baleswar with 78, Jajpur 77, Nayagarh 53, Bhadrak 52, Kendrapada 51, Angul 47, Mayurbhanj 41, Sundargarh 29, Dhenkanal 19, Sambalpur 18, Keonjhar and Kandhamal 17 each, Rayagada, Gajapati and Koraput 14 each, Subarnapur 12, Malkangiri 11, Bargarh nine, Balangir and Deogarh eight each, Boudh four, Jharsuguda, Nuapada and Ganjam two each and Kalahandi one.
Besides, 92 cases were reported from the State pool.
Meanwhile, another 68 patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, mounting the total death toll to 5,902 in the State, the Health and Family Welfare Department said.
The maximum eight deaths were reported from Angul district followed by seven each from Ganjam and Khorda, five each from Baleswar and Puri, four each from Cuttack and Mayurbhanj, three each from Bargarh, Balangir, Kendrapada, Keonjhar and Nayagarh, two each from Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Sambalpur and one each from Boudh, Jajpur and Kandhamal.
So far, 9,54,929 people have recovered in the State.
