As many as 1,029 persons were reported to be Covid-19 positive in the State on Sunday in 27 districts and the State pool, surging the total tally to 13,13,145.
Among the newly-infected were 166 children in the age group of 0 to18 years.
Notably, the State had recorded 981 Covid cases on Saturday.
Out of the new cases, 602 were from quarantine and 427 local contacts.
Sundargarh district reported the highest 222 new cases followed by Khordha with 173, Sambalpur 93, Mayurbhanj 70, Cuttack 68, Bargarh 65, Kalahandi 38, Nabarangpur 28, Balangir 27, Subarnapur 24, Nayagarh 17, Boudh and Jajpur 15 each, Rayagada 14, Koraput and Nuapada 13 each, Jharsuguda 12, Keonjhar 11, Bhadrak 10, Puri eight, Gajapati seven, Jagatsinghpur six, Deogarh five, Dhenkanal two and Angul one.
Besides, 39 positives were reported from the State pool..
The number of active cases was 6,608.
Two more persons succumbed to the disease, taking the total death toll to 9,140 in the State.
Total 1,051 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 12,97,344.
