It has been alleged that about 30 people, who were working at Mumbai-based Nerlo Company as plumbers, are being exposed to torture by the company management.

The workers were allegedly sent by one Govind Chandra Kanhar, who got Rs200 per person on behalf of a Bhubaneswar-based outsourcing company. However, two labourers, Anant Malik of Phiringia village and another from Tikabali area, somehow escaped from the company and reached Bhubaneswar on April 3. They alleged that the company did not give their salaries, and directed to work for long hours from 8 am to 10pm with only an-hour rest. “The company also didn’t allow us use mobile, provided no proper food and misbehaved with us,” said Malik.

Besides, one Charan Naik and another Santilata Pradhan have made their grievances to the Kandhamal district Collector urging him to rescue their children, who are also working in the company among seven others.
