The State Government should make its intentions clear about the Posco project before the company makes its stand clear,” said BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra while addressing the media here on Monday. He said the BJD Government is interested in publicity rather than setting up large investment projects. “It’s really very unfortunate to find that the State Government is yet to know about the company’s stand about the project after 10 long years,” he said, adding, “It seems the Government is not interested in setting up of the project.” Mohapatra also criticised the Chief Minister for not visiting the place to talk with the displaced people. Meanwhile, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick said the State Government is very eager to start the project and has also asked the Posco to make it clear whether it is still keen to set up its steel plant. The Minister said the Government is ready to provide long-term ore linkage to the project through the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).
