The Health Department directed the concerned officials to ensure social distancing to decongest the health facilities and also see that healthcare personnel as well as non-Covid patient do not get infected. The guidelines clearly suggested for stopping all elective surgeries and taking up emergency surgeries with universal precautions. Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has now decided to resume its pay-and-use quarantine facilities in different parts of the capital city.

The BMC has now identified certain properties of the OYO Hotels and rooms which would be used as paid quarantine and isolation facilities.

The move came in the wake of the second Covid-19 wave which has gripped several parts of the country and the State.

Under such circumstances, it is estimated that there would be a need of large numbers of quarantine and isolation facilities for housing suspected positive cases, asymptomatic, mild symptomatic cases in order to contain the virus spread.
