Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday alleged that the
State Government has turned “enemy of people” by failing to provide help and security to them.
“The Government has completely failed in tackling the Cyclone Titli ans subsequent heavy rains that have taken 62 precious lives. While initially it declared Rs 4 lakh compensation to each deceased’s family, it hiked the amount to Rs 10 lakh to match the Congress’ demand. But the relief and rehabilitation works are not satisfactory,” Patnaik said and demanded that road, electricity, water supply restoration and repair works be completed on war-footing.
