The BJP on Tuesday accused State Government of depriving Constitutional rights of OBCs, which constitute 52% of State’s population. Party State OBC wing president Surath Biswal said that while an advertisement published by Odisha Public Service Commission mentioned 11.25% posts reserved for OBCs, in fact the only 4% posts are being reserved for them. Only 288 posts are reserved out of total vacancies of 7,633 in education, health, fisheries and animal resources departments. While Modi Government at Centre included 27 representatives from OBC community in recent reshuffled Union Ministry, the representation of OBCs is negligible in Odisha Minisry.Biswal further alleged that not a single beneficiary has got loan or financial assistance from  State OBC Development and Finance Cooperative Corporation  during 2008-2021.
