State farmers to get PM-KISAN benefits

Published on:

The State Government on Thursday decided to implement the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, informed Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department Principal Secretary Saurabh Garg.

Initially, a list of around 12.45 lakh first-phase beneficiaries (small and marginal farmers) of the State Government’s Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme would be given to the Centre for the purpose, he said.

The Government’s decision of implementing the PM-KISAN scheme would ensure additional financial assistance for the farmers of the State, who are already getting benefits under the KALIA scheme.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, vulnerable landholding farmer families, having cultivable land up to 2 hectares, will be provided direct income support at the rate of Rs 6,000 per year. The amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of beneficiary farmers in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
