'State fails to use Central funds for SCs'

Published on:

The Pradesh Congress Committee SC Department on Wednesday decided to launch an awareness campaign at the gram panchayat level about the inefficiency of the State Government in utilising the Central funds meant for SC people. The decision was taken at a meeting of all district SC Cell presidents and observers here.

Chairing the meeting, SC Cell chairman Ripunath Seth said, “The Central Government is providing sufficient funds under various schemes for development of the SC community in the State. But the BJD Government has utterly failed to utilise the assistances. The SC people are deprived of employment, education, promotion in service, old age pension, widow pension and even Indira Awas.

Hence, we all should go to the people to make them aware about the State Government’s attitude and redouble our efforts to strengthen our organisational base at the grassroots level.”

Among others, Bankanidhi Behera, Binod Patra and Kanaklata Mallick of the SC Cell were present.
