Odisha Advocate General (AG) Surya Prasad Mishra on Saturday refuted the rumours doing the rounds that he has resigned from the post. “No, I have not put in my papers nor do I have any plans to do that either,” Mishra said.

Cuttack city was agog with rumours since Saturday afternoon, particularly among the legal fraternity, Mishra had tendered his resignation and the State Governor has not yet accepted it. Messages about the AG’s resignation were also spread in social media.

When this correspondent spoke to Mishra over telephone, he laughed aloud and said he was also getting WhatsApp messages that he has resigned. “Some mischief mongers are spreading rumours about my resignation and this has to be stopped,” he said.

Notably, Mishra was appointed as the top legal advisor of the State Government in October 2014.
