The State on Friday registered 539 Covid-19 positive cases in 25 districts and the State pool, with which the total tally increased to 10,23,133. The new cases included 77 children in the age group of 0 to18 years. In the last 24 hours, 68,818 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.78 per cent. The active cases stood at 5,829.
Out of the 539 new cases, 316 cases were from quarantined and 223 local contacts. Khordha district recorded the day’s highest 254 cases followed by Cuttack with 48, Jagatsinghpur 31, Baleswar 23, Jajpur 17, Mayurbhanj 13, Bhadrak, Puri and Sambalpur 12 each and Kendrapada 10.
The districts which recoded below-10 cases were Angul six, Nayagarh, Subarnapur, and Sundargarh five each, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Jharsuguda four each, Koraput three, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Malkangiri and Rayagada two each and Ganjam, Kalahandi and Kandhamal one each. Besides, 60 cases were reported from State Pool. Six more persons succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours, taking total death toll to 8,163. Three deaths each were reported from Cuttack and Sundargarh districts.However, 494 persons recovered on day, taking the total recoveries to 10,09,582 in State.
