The State on Monday registered 510 new Covid-19 cases in 24 districts and the State pool, with which the total tally increased to 10,20,754.
Among those infected were 79 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.In the last 24 hours, 62,509 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.81 per cent.
Notably, the State had reported 623 cases on Sunday.Out of the new 510 cases, 297 were from quarantine and 213 local contacts.
Khordha district reported the day’s highest 197 cases followed by Cuttack with 78, Baleswar 33, Jagaisinghpur 22, Jajpur 22, Puri 20, Mayurbhanj 14 and Ganjam 12, The districts which recorded below-10 cases were Bhadrak and Sambalpur nine each, Jharsuguda eight,, Gajapati and Kendrapada seven each, Kandhamal and Malkangiri four each, Angul , Koraput Rayagada and Sundargarh three each and Balangir, Boudh, Kalahandi Keonjhar and Nayagarh one each.Besides, 47 cases were reported from the State pool.Six more persons succumbed to the disease, surging the total death toll to 8,141
One death each was reported from Baleswar, Boudh, Cuttack and Nayagarh districts and two from Subarnapur. However, another 600 persons recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 10,07,666. Bhubaneswar on Monday registered 147 Covid-19 cases.
With this, the total tally in the State capital city increased to 1,11,036.Notably, the city had recorded 218 cases on Sunday.Of the new cases, 123 were local contacts and 23 were from quarantine.
The active cases stood at 3,683. So far, 1,114 persons have succumbed to disease in city. However, 200 more persons recovered from the disease in last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 1,06,318.
