The State reported 276 new Covid-19 positive cases, in 25 districts and the State pool on Monday, surging the total tally to 10,43,745.
Among the freshly-infected were 55 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years. In the last 24 hours, 59,774 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.46 per cent. The active cases were 3,134. Notably, the State had recorded 318 cases on Sunday. Out of the new cases, 159 were detected from quarantine and 117 local contacts. Among districts, Khorda recorded the day’s highest 138 cases followed by Cuttack with 17, Baleswar 15 and Jajpur and Dhenkanal 10 each,
The districts which recorded below-10 cases were Gajapati eight, Sambalpur seven, Kendrapada and Puri six each, Jagatsinghpur and Sundargarh five each, Balangir and Nuapada four each, Bhadrak three, Kalahandi, Nayagarh and Mayurbhanj two each and Subarnapur one. Besides, 31 cases were reported from the State pool. Four more persons succumbed to the disease, mounting the total death toll to 8,361 in the State. Two fatalities were reported from Bhubaneswar in Khordha district and on each from Ganjam and Puri. So far, 10, 32,197 patients have recovered in the State.
