Steel city Rourkela is set to get Odisha’s tallest Tricolour pole at a height of around 230 feet installed by the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).
The National Flag will fly atop the pole at Sector-6 in the city. Though the pole has been installed, the RSP has not announced the date for its inauguration as ancillary work around the pole is yet to be completed.
However, the flagpole is expected to be inaugurated on the Republic Day this year, informed a senior official.
Notably, the 215-feet-tall flagpole in premises of the High Court of Orissa in Cuttack is till now considered to be the tallest in the State followed by the 204-feet-tall flag pillar erected by Naveen Jindal’s Flag Foundation of India at Angul.
